Capitol Crowd origins

After 14 years working at the Texas Capitol and trying to keep up with people as they changed jobs, Robyn Hadley thought, "Why not create an online directory where people can update their career moves?" The first version of the Capitol Crowd website launched in Oct. 2004 as a searchable database of lawmakers, lobbyists, legislative staff, agency staff and members of the media... around the same time LinkedIn and Facebook were taking off. The searchable directory website no longer exists.

Since 2007, the Capitol Crowd has been publishing its pocket-sized directories and it has become THE directory for anyone who needs to visit offices at the Texas Capitol because it has more staff members with titles listed than any other printed or online directory.

We also have a private, non-partisan, non-political Facebook group for the "Capitol Crowd" with more than 3,000 members.
