After 14 years working at the Texas Capitol and trying to keep up with people as they changed jobs, Robyn Hadley thought, "Why not create an online directory where people can update their career moves?" The first version of the Capitol Crowd website launched in Oct. 2004, around the same time LinkedIn and Facebook were taking off, and included the ability to download data to a PALM PILOT. It was a great idea, but it's hard to compete with giants.
In 2007, the first printed directory was published and we've been pleasantly surprised by how many people still need a printed directory for visiting offices at the Capitol. Sometimes, low-tech is best.
